Hutchies is seeking an experienced Diploma in Building & Construction Trainer & Assessor to join our hard-working team based in our Toowong office on a full time permanent basis.

As the Trainer & Assessor, you will collaborate with the workforce training team to facilitate, teach, and assess topics related to diploma and advanced diploma in building construction.

Our enterprise based registered training organisation (RTO), Hutchies Training, specialises in providing real world, hands on training for people starting or developing a career in the construction industry. Hutchies Training students learn on live job sites, working with the latest construction techniques, equipment, and policies.

#Responsibilities

As a Trainer & Assessor your responsibilities will include:

  • Design and implement assessment services that are both engaging and relevant, combining theory and practical activities
  • Ensure that the content and delivery of accredited courses comply with ASQA / RTO Standards and other relevant regulations
  • Create a session plan for all units of competency training
  • Design class activities and online quizzes for the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Deliver the curriculum efficiently and effectively and assess it according to the session plan
  • Participate in activities to validate assessments
  • Monitor student academic progress closely and make recommendations to relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure timely reporting, submission, and verification of assessments
  • Facilitate effective communication between staff and students
  • Maintain the serviceability, cleanliness, tidiness, and safety of equipment, training venues, and training aids
  • Perform other general duties as needed
  • Travel may be necessary for off site training delivery

#Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum of Diploma in Building and Construction and Certificate IV in Training & Assessment TAE40116 or TAE40122
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of construction specific legislation and Codes of Practice
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently
  • Strong relationship building with all relevant stakeholders
  • A down to earth, fun, friendly and professional approach to your work
