Hutchies was engaged to construct Knauf’s new state-of-the-art plasterboard manufacturing facility at the Port of Bundaberg. The building itself is more than 15,000m² and has 12,000m² hardstand areas, with a combined total site coverage of 27,000m².

The facility incorporates gypsum handling and processing facilities to support plasterboard production and for sale into the agriculture sector. and has the capability to produce plasterboard wallboard, ceiling tiles, compounds and metal systems.

Knauf’s innovative lightweight construction systems include plasterboard, steel framing systems for walls and ceilings, acoustic and air cleaning wall and ceiling linings, mineral fibre ceiling tiles, facades, plasters for internal and external applications, and glass and mineral wool insulation.
