Hutchies is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Planner & Designer to join our hard-working team based in our Toowoomba office on a full-time permanent basis.

This position would be suited to an experienced builder or building designer that can assist us with our preconstruction planning, programming and documentation development. You will work closely with our estimators and design managers at the front end of projects and bids to develop site establishment plans, construction methodologies, program development and written methodology. Ideally you will have the experience to understand how to approach building a project and the technical expertise to develop documentation that captures the strategy.

#Responsibilities

As a Pre-Construction Planner & Designer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop a comprehensive project plan, with realistic timelines and deadlines
  • Ensure effective resource allocation and budget management
  • Accurately estimate time and equipment necessary to ensure detailed pre-construction planning
  • Work with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accuracy and reliability of planning
  • Utilise data from previous projects to inform programs and pre-construction planning
  • Create a detailed site establishment document that includes all required equipment and plant necessary
  • Develop a detailed timeline that effectively outlines the start and end dates of each task, incorporating extra time for unexpected delays
  • Produce documentation to assist in communicating VM concepts

#Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Experience as a Builder, PM, CA, or Site Manager, highly regarded
  • Building design experience, highly regarded
  • Experience with Sketch up, CAD or Revit, highly regarded
  • Experience in writing construction programs and the use of MS Project, highly regarded
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of market conditions, construction techniques, and industry standards
  • Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently
  • Strong relationship building with all relevant stakeholders
  • A down-to-earth, fun, friendly and professional approach to your work

We are prepared to support candidates with training to develop areas that they are less familiar with or capable of, such as the use of software.
